The previous example contained a default slot , which renders the direct children of a component. Sometimes you will need more control over placement, such as with this <ContactCard>
. In those cases, we can use named slots .
In ContactCard.svelte
, add a name
attribute to each slot:
< article class = "contact-card" >
< h2 >
< slot name = "name" >
< span class = "missing" >Unknown name</ span >
</ slot >
</ h2 >
< div class = "address" >
< slot name = "address" >
< span class = "missing" >Unknown address</ span >
</ slot >
</ div >
< div class = "email" >
< slot name = "email" >
< span class = "missing" >Unknown email</ span >
</ slot >
</ div >
</ article >
Then, add elements with corresponding slot="..."
attributes inside the <ContactCard>
component:
< ContactCard >
< span slot = "name" >
P. Sherman
</ span >
< span slot = "address" >
42 Wallaby Way< br >
Sydney
</ span >
</ ContactCard >
